Be Your Own Contractor

     This is an opportunity to save big $$$$ on your new home. With the help of some local banks, I have made it possible for you to be your own general contractor with Affordable Homes Co. as your construction consultant for a fraction of the cost it would be if you were to hire a contractor.
     Being your own contractor is not as hard as it sounds. However, there will be some work on your part. On average expect to spend 15 to 20 hours a week contracting your new home. Some of that time will be spent on the phone; the rest of your time will be spent on site to answer any questions the subs may have.
     Having chosen to build Modular is the key to being your own contractor. The modular unit is pre built, and most all of the work in the house has already been done. This means that the time that the trade people are actually on site is very limited. And in turn dramatically reduces the time it takes to complete your new home.
     Once you have chosen to be your own general contractor you will need to start getting estimates from the various trades people needed to finish your home. Affordable Homes Co. can be your consultant, and help you put a list of items together that you will need to complete your new home. In many cases, depending on your location Affordable Homes Co. has worked with the various trades in your area and would be happy to refer them to you.
